Misaligned tags are a common problem for new users printing with Tagify.

Tagify utilizes as much of your material as possible. While this insures effective marketing and optimizes your material, you may run into some printing problems if you've never used the PDF's from Tagify before.

But fear not! Depending on how you print, there are easy ways to get printing correctly.

Quick solutions

Whatever your method, disable any sort of autoscaling or page sizing prior to the print. Most software wants to add whitespace around a page which overrides Tagify's specific positioning of your tags. For best results:
Sticking to options like Scale 100% or Actual Size will fix 99% of printing problems.

Do you have the right material selected?

Make sure your projects material matches your the material loaded in your printer.

Printing from Acrobat (recommended)

Adobe Acrobat Reader is probably the most popular PDF reader. If you run any sort of Illustrator/Photoshop combo, you likely have this already installed. Most corporate environments have this pre-installed as well.

From the web:
Make your tags like normal. Tagify gives you the option of either viewing or downloading your tags. To make sure we're using Acrobat to view your PDF, download your tags. Tagify will put your PDF into a ZIP and the download will automatically start. Open the ZIP and then open the PDF.

Once you see your tags in Acrobat, press print and you'll see Adobe's print dialog:

Set your printing settings like normal. The most important setting to make sure is on is Actual Size. This tells Acrobat to not add any padding or margin to your tags. This fixes 99% of printing problems.

From an email (typically sent from the iOS app):
When you get tags via email, you'll typically get a link directly to the tags. You can either attempt to print from the browser (detail below) or save the PDF to your computer. After it's saved, open that PDF and follow the instructions above.

Printing from the browser

Sometimes it's just faster to make your tags in Tagify and then view/print directly from the browser. This requires a few more steps and introduces a bunch of variables for the journey your Tagify PDF takes from computer to printer.

  • Chrome

  • When Chrome's print sheet comes open, choose Print using system dialog. Try to apply the tips in the Quick Solution section above.

  • Firefox

  • Firefox doesn't natively support PDF's. Instead it relies on plugins to do the job. If you can view PDF's in Firefox currently, you've probably got the Acrobat plugin installed. Follow the Acrobat instructions above, you should be good to go.

  • Safari

  • macOS has a wonderful built in PDF viewer called Preview. The trick with Preview is creating a new page type with zero margins. Check out this link to get going.

  • Internet Explorer

  • Similar to Firefox, IE usually depends on Acrobat to view PDF's natively. If you do have the Acrobat plugin installed, follow the Acrobat instructions above.
