When does Tagify automatically delete old stuff?

Tagify (and users like you) creates tons of digital artwork. Brands, logos, signs, all kinds of graphics. Graphics in the beverage industry go out of date pretty fast, so what's the point of keeping them around? At a certain point Tagify is just wasting energy in a server farm somewhere.

Tagify does occasionally housekeeping and handles super old data accordingly. So what happens and how old does it have to be?

Data that is never deleted:

  • Brands

  • Signs

  • Users

  • UPCs

  • Customers

  • Metrics (historic data for reporting and statistics)

Tagify will never touch this data unless it's manually removed by users.

Data that is deleted:

  • Tag PDFs after 3 years

  • Sign PDFs after 3 years

  • Combined projects (merged/stacked in Activity) after 1 year

Now, this might sound scary. What if you happen to search for an old project and the PDFs have been deleted? Then 9 times out of 10, you would just remake the project. For tag projects, you probably have some old logos/pricing and that's an almost guarantee for sign projects: those things are old.

Combined projects are the same thing, you can typically recreate if needed but those projects are probably long and forgotten about once they roll off your Activity.

Data that is archived:

  • Projects after 5 years

  • Tags after 5 years

Wait, Tagify has an archive feature? Yes and no.

Yes, in that Tagify will archive older projects/tags and that data is technically accessible by contacting support. No, in that you won't be able to pull it up in your project list like normal.

Similar to your old PDFs, I'd be willing to bet to you've had a few general price increases in the past 5 years...

Canceled company accounts

For cancelled accounts, Tagify will periodically remove assets that can be recreated: tag PDFs, signs PDFs, etc.
